  1. The new season is almost upon us, so if you are like me you have been out spending money at Christmas on anything you think will help bring that handicap down.

I normally don't make new year resolutions, but this time I thought I'd have a serious go at getting down to a more reasonable 27hcp (or lower if possible) so that's the goal for me.

The club is going to have a league table this year, that with the assistance of Ian (who set up and helps me post stuff on this site) will be posted after each game onto the web page so you'll be able to have a bit of friendly competition amongst ourselves.

We shall be issuing points for a few categories, eg. 4 points for first place, 3 for second, 2 for third, one point will be also issued for the two nearest the pins each game and the mens and ladies long drives. There will be 2 points per player in the yearly special game for first place and a single point for the second placed team.

I hope this will give enough chances for as many of us as possible to get one or two points by the end of the year and don't forget the more you play the more points you have a chance at.

The prize will be decided upon during the first one or two games and we will announce it asap (it won't be a house or a holiday unless we up the game fees by a thousand fold). That said, we are going to be making the new fee this year perhaps $35 per game and possibly leaving membership as it is ($30 I think) again we will advise clarification of these figures shortly, so keep posted.

Hope to see many of you at the first game on the 14th of February at Virginia.
