Gainborough game 16^th August 2015 – The Shield.

Another good field for the annual Shield game (15) giving us six groups of 2 & one of 3 players.

Mild weather & a course in not quite as good a nick as we would have preferred (some of the greens were a bit on the dodgy side) were the conditions for the day. I hope everyone had some fun with their randomly drawn partners, I know Ken & Dave were having a great time.

It was always going to be tricky to stop what proved to be the winning group, giving Troy a 10.25 hcp is pure madness at the best of times and then having him teamed with Phil, who’s game has been improving steadily for some time now (Just how much is he paying the handicapper?) and has his name on the shield three times now, obviously the format he enjoys the most.

Ladies Long drive 4^th – not taken

1^st place on a net score of 57.75 – Phil Dawson and Troy Grimshaw. The 2015 Shield champions.

2^nd place on 60.17 – Ash Misra, Judith Chapman and Myself.

3^rd place on 60.50 – Karen Greedy & Paul Wellington.

Other scores: 66 for Jane & Mark, 67.75 for Dan & Ian, 69.75 for Dave C & Ken and 71.75 for George & Peter.

Next game is at Carbrook on the 13^th of Sept for a 7.08 tee off.
