Windaroo Game 20th May 2012.

Well it turned out to be a lovely day after a cool start with a classic Queensland Autumn/Winter sky. The birds were singing, the ducks were quacking & the air was blue (Ken was in the group in front of me) and from what I gather fun & laughter from Howard/Ian/Phil’s group, as I think Howard was having a meltdown (turned out he was wrong)

The little pre game confab before the game with committee members present proved to be useful, as the cards came back with ties for 1st & 3rd places.

If you missed it, the new count back system for ties is now worked on the fewer number of wipes on a card takes the higher place. Thanks to Ian for proposing that.

It was a low scoring game with I think most of us believing we had done worse than we had, but in reality the course was out to hurt us and did a pretty good job and Windaroo certainly can do that.

Sorry about the tough NTP (water carry) placements, but some of you were good enough to get the greens.

Here are the results for Windaroo:

1st place on 29pts – Paul Lockwood-Lee
2nd place on 29pts – Mark Coster
3rd place on 28pts – Karen Greedy
(Tied for third but missing out on count back: Dan Williams and Howard Ward)

NTP on the 15th – Owen Wright
NTP on the 7th – Karen Greedy
Men’s L/D 13th – Dan Williams
Ladies L/D 13th – Hilary Martyn

Next game is at Logan on the 17th of June.
It’s the four club game, so start thinking about your favourite mix of hitty sticks.

Regards,
Paul (Captain)

Golf: 20 May at Windaroo Lakes Golf Club

Hello everyone

Another exciting round for the 2012 season is upon us!! This game is at Windaroo Lakes Golf Club on Sunday 20 May, arrival at 6.45am for tee-off at 7.03am. An early start!!

The address is Anna Louise Terrace, Windaroo. The number of the pro shop is 3804 0633 (for cart bookings).

To get there, take exit 35 for (heading south on the M1) towards MAIN STREET. At the roundabout, take the 4th exit onto Rochester Drive heading to Beenleigh/Mount Warren Park. At the next roundabout, take the 4th exit onto Main St/Milne St and continue to follow Milne St. Then take the 1st exit onto Beaudesert-Beenleigh Rd (turn left to stay on Beaudesert-Beenleigh Rd). Turn left onto Carl Heck Boulevard then another left onto Wilhelm Drive. At the next roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Anna Louise Terrace. Windaroo Lakes GC will be on the right.

From the city I estimate the drive time to be about 30-40 minutes (at that time of morning).
Please email me (or call) as soon as possible if you are attending the game so I can organise numbers with Windaroo Lakes.

Yours,
Owen
