HILLS - JIMBOOMBA JULY 12TH 2015

HILLS - JIMBOOMBA JULY 12TH 2015
Yet another good turnout for the country game. With 16 players braving the chill wind, but glorious skies. Special thanks to Bill Ryan and Andy McDonald, two new players, hope you’ll come back again soon, providing we haven’t put you off with the super high standard of play (Hah!).
The cool air didn’t stop George from having a hot day however, having a very good 40pts to take home top spot – well done George, he was followed closely by Rodney & then myself, so a bit of a victory for the old boys there I think.
The course was in pretty much standard Jimboomba condition, with the Hills Club showing its teeth on those hard to get greens & strangely set up holes (I.E. shorter iron to tee off to avoid a watery grave & bigger club one needed for the second shot scenario, well at least for some big hitters)
I think we had a none joke shop exploding ball out there as well for good measure , don’t worry as soon as the Dunlops are gone we can get back into our newly replenished Wilson (thanks to Hills) in the meantime try to not hit the Dunlops too hard. Personally I never keep any ball long enough for it to get weakened enough to crack open, especially at Hills. I think a lot of balls were lost out there on Sunday.
Thanks to everyone who made it all the way out to Jimboomba, we hope to see as many as possible at the next game (plus some more if possible) for the mid-season shield.
Now for the results:
NTP on the 8th – Andy McDonald
NTP on the 13th – Ian Smith
Mens Long drive 18th – Troy Grimshaw
Ladies Long drive 18th – not taken
1st place on 40 points – George Chapman
2nd place on 37 points – Rodney Topor
3rd place on 36 points – Paul Lockwood-Lee
Next game is the shield game (2 person Ambrose, pairs by random draw, I will try to match the groups of course if you have any special requests – but not the playing pairs) at Gainsborough Greens (7.24am) 16th of August.
Regards until then.
Paul (Captain)
